today i have started to model the ice cave, i first thought it would be a quick and easy project, but was I wrong, i spent the first few hours trying to figure out how i was going to start. not really planning ahead i just jumped into Maya and started messing around. as you can see i have not made this look very ice cave like...
at this stage i have started to pull faces and smoothing them out to give the points. its been smoothed out and ive added a white bling on it. with this shader you can get a better effect as its very reflective like ice.
this image shows what happened when i imported the scene into mudbox to add detail, there was obviously a problem here! as you can see the detail was lost, i could'nt find a reason for this but i think it must be a setting in mudbox. ive changed the colour a little as the shaders from mudbox was imported when i imported the scene back into maya.
